Anna Nordqvist

Founder, owner and CEO of Tellus Vision AB

TV producer, project manager and director

Master of Laws (LL.M), certified project manager and studies at The Swedish Institute of Dramatic Art (DI / StDH). Founded Tellus Vision in 1990.

The first major drama series I was responsible for was a soap opera in 24 episodes, with professional German actors, shot in Hamburg in 1990. It was commissioned by a major publishing house in the US, EMC Paradigm Publishing.

The series was well received both in America and abroad. For example, Japanese housewives watched it to learn German culture and language.

This became the starting point for Tellus Vision which I founded in 1990, in my early thirties. With a young, international market in mind, on commission or as co-productions, we have produced hundreds of TV programs and series all over the world. They are distributed worldwide by broadcasters and major publishing houses. Drama, soaps, documentaries, comedy sketches and game shows – we create edutainment (education + entertainment) with interesting, fun or exciting topics including role models, good values and attitudes.

Before establishing Tellus Vision, I studied and worked in Sweden. For a couple of years, I was employed as a music producer at Rikskonserter, a national foundation that arranged public concerts and performances in schools, prisons and other institutions. During that time, I also worked with various programs: sports, commercials, industrial films, music and cultural programs. I made video news reportages around the world, produced for successful Scandinavian industries, distributed to thousands of employees worldwide.

This is how my interest in working internationally started.

My driving force has always been my curiosity: about people, new environments and cultures. I have dedicated myself to spreading knowledge and education, while increasing the understanding of cultural and social differences. I enjoy managing the entire work process in a well-organized context.

As producer, I’m in charge of Tellus Vision’s productions. I am usually also the director.

I took on this role for the first time, many years ago, while filming a major soap opera. To save the project I had to step in as director and worked in close collaboration with the camera man and the script girl, since I wasn’t fluent in the language. Teamwork!

Realizing a vision is a mix of playful creativity and hard, patient work. When the unexpected happens, it requires quick and flexible solutions.

My responsibility covers planning, organization, administration, legal work, budgeting and the artistic touch, in other words: the whole process from idea to a master ready for broadcasting. In addition to the filming, we usually also take care of the pre-production such as script writing, research, permits, contracts, location scouting and casting. The post-production includes editing, graphics, music, audio mixing, subtitles, teacher’s guide and much more.

Of course I don’t work alone. For each series the team needed is created, both regarding experience, size and skills: small teams when creating documentaries while in drama series, up to a hundred people can be involved. The team members originate from different countries and cultures, making invaluable contributions to the work process and the success of the outcome. The same goes for all the amazing professional actors and young people involved. It is a great joy to work together!

We always work with the goal in mind: to deliver the best result within the given didactic framework, sticking to the budget and meeting the deadline.

Many of my productions have received awards, both in Sweden and internationally.

My formal education:

Master of Laws (LL.M) from Lund University, I hold a project manager diploma and have studied music. I have an extensive education within film & television from The Swedish Institute of Dramatic Art (Dramatiska Institutet, StDH) and Swedish Television (SVT).

Some of the series are presented on this website. Enjoy!
